Success of Zaidees Rainbow Shoelaces

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

20/09/2009
Since February 2006 the Foundation has being selling Zaidee’s Rainbow Shoelaces nationally for organ and tissue donation, transplant awareness.

Zaidee’s Rainbow Shoelaces is our national symbol, and the aim of the Foundation and of the Turner family is to make Zaidee’s Rainbow Shoelaces to become the national symbol for organ and tissue awareness. Many people feel and have already expressed to me personally it already has and should be known as our national symbol for organ and tissue donation awareness in Australia. Currently it is the only symbol that can be purchased by the public nationally and has been incredibly well supported from all sectors of the community from all ages, specially our children, and in having Zaidee Rainbow Days at their schools.

Our most elite sporting players to grass root clubs to politicians from both side of parliament with bipartisan support are behind the laces. Sporting clubs from the AFL, NRL, Australian Cricket players, NBL, WNBL, Soccer and the list goes on of sporting teams in all codes that have wore the laces at the highest level of sport, even a number of Australian representative sporting team have worn the laces whilst in the green and gold. In one sporting organisation alone the Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League over the weekend on Saturday 24th May 2008, over 4,500 football and netball players from juniors to seniors wore the laces “Zaidee’s Round”. Both the AFL and NRL Umpires and referees wore the laces in one round over June/July 2008. And the list and support nationally is growing each week, month and year.

For just $2 you can wear them in your shoes, around your writs in your hair, hang them off your bag especially if you travel through airports. Over 200,000 Australians so far have supported the laces in carrying Zaidee’s message nation wide. If you would like to support Zaidee’s Rainbow Shoelaces to be known as our national symbol for organ and tissue donation I would like to obtain your support.

Please email me your comments to allan@zaidee.org Best wishes, Allan Turner Chief Executive Officer Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation

If you can help promote organ and tissue awareness by wearing Zaidee’s Rainbow Shoelaces then please give me a call or send an email allan@zaidee.org

Zaidee’s National Campaign

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

On Monday April 21st 2008, I was invited to Parliament House Canberra to meet with Senator The Hon Jan McLucas Parliamentary Secetary to the Minister for Helath and Ageing for a private meeting, and for over 1 hour we talked about Zaidee’s national campaign and the support we have received from the national sporting codes and the future support of the many national awareness programs we will be delivering, such as the Motorbike Pin and Patch to be launched at this years Phillip Island Motorbike GP.
I left this meeting with a very positive feel that the Government is heading in the right direction with the new changes for organ and tissue donation issues that we will see in the community over the coming years.
