Doctors in Hair Nets

Over 200,000 people national supported Zaidee’s Rainbow Hair Net Day for 2009.

Congratulations Australia the numbers are in for those that supported Zaidee’s Rainbow Hair Net Day on 9th November 2009.

Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation has made history in making this day the largest ever for organ and tissue donor and transplant awareness supported by you the people across this land for this special one day in a call of action.

Over 200,000 people wore Zaidee Rainbow Hair Nets Nationally, in Hospitals and Food Manufacturing sites in this our 5th year since Zaidee died.

This is just one of the many national awareness projects that we do each week, month and year to make sure that Zaidee’s story makes a difference to increasing the donation rate in Australia especially for children.

Hospitals and Food Manufacturing sites in every part of this land wore a Zaidee’s Rainbow Hair Nets and discussed organ and tissue donation.  The feed back I am getting is from many parents that wore the hair nets, took them home and gave them to their kids and told them about the day they had at their work place and how everyone had a fun uplifting day with a powerful message becasue of a simple Rainbow Hair Net and little girls story.

Below is an email I received during Zaidee’s Hair Net campaign which is one of many of the years we are sent to say what a difference Zaidee’s campaign has made – this is the first one I have every made public as it hit home after the 5 years we have been beating Zaidee’s drum.

Thank you Stacy for sharing this with Kim, Jaz and I. Your family and all other donor families are very proud of what we have done and what our Fathers, Mothers, Sons and Daughters have given after death, the greatest gift of all their organ and tissues so others can live and live a better life.

Please find attached form for Zaidee’s Rainbow Hair Net Day.

Our theatre staff and catering staff here, at St John of God Hospital, Bendigo are required to wear hair nets and would be delighted to wear rainbow hair nets for this particular cause and I hope to see all other staff also wear them on Monday 9th November to raise awareness of this cause.

I personally hold a soft spot for this particular cause as my father passed away 18 months ago at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and it was the plaque of Zaidee that was outside the Critical Care Unit that made me and my family decide to donate my fathers organs and tissue and we also knew that he would have wanted to do that also. So it was because of the Zaidee’s Foundation that my father was able to save or help the lives of at least 3 other people.

 Cheers,

Stacy
