AFL team Hawthorn have confirmed that they are wearing Zaidee's Rainbow Shoelaces in Round 22 against Collingwood this year.

Australian MotoGP lends a hand to Zaidee’s Organisers of the 2008 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix announced today that Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation would be its official charity.
Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation aims to raise awareness of organ and tissue donation, with the hope of encouraging more Australians to become donors themselves.
The foundation was founded by Kim and Allan Turner in memory of their daughter Zaidee who, at the age of seven, died suddenly in 2004 after suffering a burst blood vessel in her brain.
Of the 130,000 Australians who died in 2004, only 218 were organ donors. Of the 103 children under the age of 16 who died at the Royal Children’s Hospital that year, Zaidee was the only Victorian child to donate her organs and tissues. In 2007, that number was again on the decrease with only 198 people nationally becoming organ donors. Zaidee was also one of only six children to donate nationally and one of the youngest Australian donors on record in

On Monday April 21st 2008, I was invited to Parliament House Canberra to meet with Senator The Hon Jan McLucas Parliamentary Secetary to the Minister for Helath and Ageing for a private meeting, and for over 1 hour we talked about Zaidee’s national campaign and the support we have received from the national sporting codes and the future support of the many national awareness programs we will be delivering, such as the Motorbike Pin and Patch to be launched at this years Phillip Island Motorbike GP.
I left this meeting with a very positive feel that the Government is heading in the right direction with the new changes for organ and tissue donation issues that we will see in the community over the coming years.

The Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League supporting Zaidee’s Rainbow Shoelaces by having over 4,000 Football and Netball Players wearing the laces on 24th & 25th May 2008. This is the largest number of sports players at one time that has supported Zaidee’s campaign. If your sporting organisation can better this number I would like to here from you.

Bata Shoes present Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation with a cheque for $11,101.00 for sales of 5,550 pairs of Zaidee’s Black school shoe in their 2007/8 back to schools program. This was an increase from the previous year which they kindly donated $10,260.00 from the sale of 5,130 pairs of Zaidee’s Shoe sold nationally in 2006/7 back to school promotion.
They will again sell the Zaidee Shoe nationally in 2009 and have confirmed they will start selling the Zaidee Shoe into New Zealand in 2009.
